YES! Thank you you managed to put into words. Tumblr is the home of the queer literary nerds who spent YEARS projecting onto movies/shows, often only with the slightest connection to the source material. Of course we could yes and the bit and create a movie out of whole cloth. Of course we made it queer. That’s what we do here!
If tiktok wants to create a fake movie, then by g-d, I support them. But here’s the key thing. They have to lean into what they are! They have to film the movie. Give me a movie made minute by minute with all the tonal shifts that entails. If they want to create a cheesy slasher, it is within their power to do so! Lean in tiktokers! You’re the site that gave us 10,000 versions of the wellerman! Give us a choose your own adventure style movie!
